S. Jakarta Plants Trees and Seeds at Pemuda Reservoir

South Jakarta Administration planted trees and spread fish seeds at Pemuda Reservoir, Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa.

to give benefit for residents

South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin said today's activity was a form of respond of reservoir launching by Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi several times ago.

"The launching was run together with Petukangan Reservoir and Mampang Prapatan Sub-district Office. Then we need to make the area green," he said, Friday (1/3).

Munjirin added that there were 15 Cipedak Avocado trees given by South Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency. Then 1,500 seeds of tawes fish given by South Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency.

The productive trees and fish can be used as food security to increase the residents' nutrition.

"The reservoir is not only to anticipate flood around Srengseng Sawah, but also to give benefit for residents," he added.

South Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency Head, Santo explained Pemuda Reservoir is built to reduce the impact of inundation and flood at RW 09 Srengseng Sawah.

This Pemuda Reservoir is equipped with two inlet water gates and one outlet which are flanked by the Babakan Atas and Babakan Bawah connecting channels and a guard house.

"Hopefully our effort will attract residents to interact and do exercise here," he admitted.
