East Jakarta SDA Dredges Mud in 24 Locations

The East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has noted that around 24 locations in East Jakarta have been dredged from mud from January to December 2024.
These 24 locations are in ten sub-districts, including embung, reservoir, river and channel
Those 24 locations are channels, rivers, and embung (artificial lakes). It aims to prevent flooding and inundation.
East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Section Head, Puryanto Palebangan stated the dredging was done in stages from January to December.

According to him, each has a depth of 1.5 to two meters of mud. The dredged mud is dumped into the sand trap of the Ujung Menteng East Flood Canal (KBT), Cakung.
"At each point, we deploy two or three heavy equipment belonging to UPT Alkal which has been handed over to us," he continued.
Of 25 points, among them were Ria Rio Pulogadung Reservoir with a dredged volume of 36,365 cubic meters, Pondok Ranggon Reservoir with a capacity of 96,048 cubic meters.
Then is Ciliwung River, segment of Jalan MT Haryono to the bridge of Jalan KH Abdullah Syafei with dredging results of 33,216 cubic meters.
Lastly, the same action was also spotted at the Rawa Bebek TNI Connecting Channel next to Bizpak/Batu Bara with a volume of 500 cubic meters, Cililitan Connecting Channel with a volume of 119,459 cubic meters and other points.
