PPKUKM Agency: Calibration to Protect Community Interests

Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative Small and Medium Enterprise (PPKUKM) Agency Head, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo symbolically opened the seal and affixing the 2025 Stamp Mark imprint, Friday (1/3).

Elisabeth said the program is Jakarta's commitment in calibration orderliness and upholding truth in every measurement in trade sector.

"This is part of metrology services for residents after issuing the 2025 Stamp Mark," she said.

She added that the affixing of the 2025 Calibration Stamp was a momentum to align the perception that calibration or re-calibration are not implementing routine tasks in trading activities.

"The activity has big purpose namely protecting community interest ," she added.

According to her, the activity aims to realize welfare for Indonesia citizens with legal certainty and orderly measurements as mandated by Law Number 2/1981 about Legal Metrology.

She also appealed to officials of Certain Functional Positions (JFT)-Penera, to maintain and carry out their mandate with a full sense of responsibility and integrity as they have been entrusted by law as Measuring Judges.

"Let's work together to create Jakarta as orderly measurement region," she stated.

As for information, the affixing of the 2025 Calibration Stamp functions to ensure that measuring instruments, measuring tools and weighing tools used in trade transactions are comply with applicable regulation.

As the result, residents should not worry while shopping if the scales used by sellers have a valid calibration mark.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Metrology Management Unit Head, Nur Hidayat reported about the Jakarta Metrology Management Unit performance in 2024.

Those are the achievement of metrology services, the realization of UTTP tools (measuring, weighing, and equipment) as many as 919,205 units.

The unit also received several awards namely the Orderly Measurement Market award given to 16 markets, received the Orderly Measurement Region award for three consecutive years, then the Consumer Protection Concerned Region award, as well as 3rd Place in the Audio Visual Category and 3rd Place in the Inspirational Public Relations Category at the 2024 Jakarta Public Relations Awards.

"Thanks to the hard work of all civil servant at the Jakarta Provincial Metrology Management Unit, laboratory assistants, and support from the Jakarta Provincial PPKUKM Agency. Hopefully the Jakarta Provincial Metrology Management Unit can maintain optimal performance to serve Jakarta people in 2025," he explained.
