2,987 MBG Packages Distributed in Palmerah

As many as 2,987 Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) packages were distributed to 11 schools in Palmerah Sub-district, West Jakarta, Monday (1/6).

Those packages were distributed from kitchens or offices of Nutrition Service Fulfillment Unit (SPPG) Palmerah on Jalan KS Tubun, West Jakarta by using two box cars.

As many as 888 packages were distributed in the morning to elementary school students of class I up to III to be consumed at 8:30 AM. Then another packages were distributed to elementary students of class IV up to VI and junior high school students of class VII-IX in 11 schools to be consumed at 11:30 PM.

Free Nutritious Meal Program in Jakarta Starts Today

SPPG Palmerah Head, Yudha Permana said his side distributed 2,987 meal packages for 11 schools.

"We have 40 meals menu for every day's menu for students in 11 schools from kindergarten up to senior high school," he said.

He added that his side collaborates with local MSMEs to get good quality of meal ingredients. Then also to maintain hygiene from the preparation stage, processing to cleaning the food containers after being used by thousands of students in 11 schools.

"Today we provided two meal packages, first was fried chicken and tofu, rice, stir-fried long beans and oranges. Second package was rice, teriyaki chicken, fried tofu, stir-fried long beans and oranges at a price below Rp 10,000 per package," he explained.

According to him, there are 50 workers at SPPG Palmerah. Those are cooks, nutritionists, accountants, field assistants, drivers and customer service.

Presidential Communication Office, Dedek Prayudi stated 190 SPPGs in 26 provinces have distributed around 570,000 meal packages.

"About 937 SPPGs will operate in early March 2025 with total recipients 3 million people consisting pregnant women and students," he stated.
