306 Susukan Residents Enjoy Free Nutritious Meals

Some 306 residents consisting of breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women, and toddlers in Susukan Urban Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta, enjoyed Free Nutritious Meal Packages (MBG) distributed to seven integrated health posts or posyandu, Friday (1/10).

The focus is more on schools

This MBG program was directly monitored by several state officials, such as Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Deputy Minister, Veronica Tan; Population and Family Development Deputy Minister/BKKBN Deputy Head, Isyana Bagoes Oka.

Then Communication Dissemination and Information Media Deputy for Presidential Communication Office, Noudhy Valdryno; Presidential Communication Office Speaker, Prita Laura; Promotion and Nutrition Education Director for National Nutrition Agency, Khairul Hidayati.

Commission E: MBG Motivates Children to Go to School

BKKBN Deputy Head, Isyana Bagoes Oka stated, nutritious food is very important for the growth and health of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.

Until now, the free nutritious meal program has been running for five days at 190 points, starting from schools, integrated health posts and community environments.

"The focus is more on schools. But, today, we keep targeting pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and pre-school children," she explained.

East Jakarta TP PKK Acting Chair, Linda Kusmanto, welcomed the provision of free food for her residents, as it could prevent stunting.

She assessed, the menu served consisted of white rice, vegetables, fruit and milk, which was liked by pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and toddlers.

"This helps overcome the stunting problem in East Jakarta and towards a Golden Indonesia 2045," she concluded.

Susukan Urban Village Head, Andri Priwitama Maila added, 306 beneficiary residents were spread across Posyandu Dahlia RW 01, totaling 42 people, Posyandu Sutra RW 02, totaling 45 people.

Then, there were 30 people at Nusa Indah Posyandu, RW 03; 45 at Baltasutra Posyandu, RW 05; 45 at Anyelir Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) RW 06; 45 at Melati Posyandu, RW 07; 45 at the Mawar Posyandu, RW 04.

"In the future, there will be an increase in the number of posyandu to 20 spread across seven RWs," she concluded.
