Jakarta City Council's Commission A Vice Chairwoman, Alia Noorayu Laksono delivered hope for the new Jakarta leader after the determination of the elected Governor and Vice Governor.

Commission A Suggests Positive Activities to Prevent Brawls"We hope the new Jakarta leader will be able to bring concrete and innovative solution in handling big challenges namely flood, traffic jam, and urbanization," Alia said, Tuesday (1/14).
Alia added that equitable development should not only be focused on the city center. The development can also be carried out for underprivileged residents in suburban through social program and affordable housing.
Welcoming the Jakarta's 500th anniversary, Alia also hopes Jakarta leader continuing the effort in overcoming congestion by improving services as well as developing public transportation such as MRT, LRT, and Transjakarta. She hopes for more innovative traffic policies such as parking management or implementing transportation technology.
Alia continued that accelerating the construction and maintenance of drainage system, reservoir and embankment should be run by Jakarta Provincial Government in handling flood problem.
"It is also important to educate residents related with managing waste to prevent drainage blockage," she added.
As for environmental
issue, Alia reminded the vehicle regulation and encouraging the use of renewable energy are one of efforts to reduce air pollution. It can also to be run by increasing urban greening with park, city forest, and green lane.She also hopes that the next Jakarta leader can ease the public access to health service, education, and population administration. She assessed that efficiency and transparency in public services need to be increased through digital-based services.
Alia supports the new Jakarta leader in improving resident's welfare by supporting the growth of MSMEs, cooperatives, and young entrepreneurs, as well as creating more jobs with investment and development projects.
As in legal sector, Alia wants Jakarta to be a safe and comfortable city through fair and consistent law enforcement.
"Collaboration between government and law enforcement officers to increase the city security to enforce the regulation fairly, including controlling illegal area and Jakarta's spatial planning management," she stated.
