794 New Street Lights Installed in North Jakarta

The North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency, succeeded in realizing the addition of 794 street lights in six sub-districts in 2024.

City Infrastructure and Utilities and Public Street Lighting Section Head, Untung Pitoyo detailed, 157 street lights were installed in Kelapa Gading Sub-district, 49 were in Koja Sub-district, 132 were in Cilincing Sub-district, 397 were in Penjaringan Sub-district, 46 were in Tanjung Priok Sub-district, and 13 were in Pademangan Sub-district.

"Last year, our target was 750 points yet the realization exceeded the target reaching 794," he expressed, Friday (1/17).

He explained this year's target was 1,000 points, among them, Kelapa Gading with 190 points, Koja with 31 points, Cilincing with 353 points, Penjaringan with 156 points, Tanjung Priok with 236 points, and Pademangan with 34 points.

"The lamps used are LED Smart System type with 40 to 90 watts power," he explained.

He added its installation is based on the results of community aspirations through Musrembang and based on requests from residents via letter.

"Of course, they (street lights) can maintain and improve security and avoid the possibility of criminal acts due to dark road conditions at night," he uttered.

The street light installation received appreciation from a Kebon Bawang Urban Village Resident, Tanti (36).

"In the area where I live, the majority of the lights are all installed. So, I'm no longer afraid when I get home from work at night," she admitted.
