PT Transjakarta is about to deploy officers to assist in traffic management at railway crossings.

It was done in relation to the electric bus Transjakarta bus owned by the operator Bianglala Metropolitan with body number BMP 240364, which had its journey interrupted while crossing the tracks and the siren sounded at the Green Garden railway crossing heading to Pasar Baru on Saturday (2/15) at 1 PM.

"Officers are deployed to ensure the safety and comfort of customers using Transjakarta services. This is our priority," expressed PT Transjakarta Secretary Division Head, Tjahyadi Dermawan, Monday (2/17).

His party had conducted an internal investigation and there were no technical issues with the bus at the incident. He stated, this happened because the bus's speed was hindered after crossing part of the train tracks, while at a red light and with other vehicles in front of it.

"The bus had crossed part of the railway tracks before the siren sounded and the railway crossing barrier was closed," he explained.

He furthered panic occurred because passengers forced their way out and broke the left side window. After the red light ended, the vehicle in front of the bus moved, and then the bus resumed its normal speed.

"We apologize for the inconvenience. This is a serious concern for Transjakarta to revise the SOP for drivers, especially on routes that cross railway tracks," he stated.
