Sterilization Targets 2,000 Cats in South Jakarta

South Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency is targeting to sterilize 2,000 cats this year.

South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency's Animal Husbandry and Health Section Head, Irawati Harry Artharini said this year's target is higher compared to last year by 1,634 cats.

"We'll remain handle the cat population since the breed is too quick," she said, Wednesday (2/26).

Irawati added that 103 cats have been sterilized from January to February 25, 2025 in South Jakarta.

"The sterilization applies Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) method," she added.

Of 103 sterilized cats, she continued, 32 were in Cilandak Sub-district, Pesanggrahan Sub-district by 30 cats, and 41 in Pancoran Sub-district.
