Dishub: Lay Bay Remains Optimal to Support Public Transportation User Comfort

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) keeps maintaining public order in traffic for the comfort of residents, including in managing areas around public transportation stops, such as MRT stations.

This is an evaluation material for us

To manage the passenger drop-off flow, the Lay Bay facility was made to minimize passenger congestion that causes traffic jams.

It is provided as a temporary stopping place for vehicles that will drop off passengers. However, under certain conditions during busy times in the morning and evening, it has the potential to experience overcapacity due to excessive vehicle volume or long stops that trigger long queues.

Like the queue at Lebak Bulus MRT Station on Tuesday (2/25) morning. This happened due to the high volume of vehicles in the Lay Bay area.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo explained that at that time Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, had to get out of the car earlier, because of the long queue before he and his entourage arrived.

"There was no conditioning to clear the queue. Seeing the long queue, the Deputy Governor immediately got off to get on the MRT from Lebak Bulus Station to Bundaran HI more quickly. Then, the cars carrying him and his entourage were directed straight towards City Hall," he explained, Sunday (3/2).

However, his party would keep coordinating regarding escort activities in public places while still prioritizing public comfort.

"This is an evaluation material for us and all parties to arrange technical aspects in the escort and afterwards. Because this is a public facility, so the public must also be a priority," he closed.
