East Jakarta BPBD Deploys Five Rubber Boats

East Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) has deployed five rubber boats to inundated areas for evacuation process.

East Jakarta BPBD's Area Coordinator Unit Taskforce Head, Sukendar said five rubber boats and 55 personnel have been deployed to evacuate residents in Kampung Melayu, Bidara Cina, Cililitan, Cawang, and Balekambang Urban Villages.

"We're cooperating with Brimob, Polairus, and Samapta Polda Metro Jaya to evcuate residents to safer places," he said, Tuesday (3/4).

Sukendar explained the evacuation has been run since dawn as the water went high due to overflowing Ciliwung River.

"Three additional boats from Jakarta BPBD to be deployed also," he explained.

According to him, there are five rubber boats to accelerate the evacuation from Samapta Polda Metro Jaya, two from Brimob, and four from Polairud.

"Evacuation is still ongoing," he added.

He appeals the residents to move to safer places or want to be evacuated. Especially for elderly, women, children, and sick people.

"We're still monitoring the area to ensure residents are evacuated," he stated.
