Bambu River Dam will Be Arranged as Tourism Destination

The Bambu River Dam which located at RW 06, Bambu River Urban Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, will be re-arranged. Eventually, the river dam will be integrated with the Bambu River Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) near such river dam. Not only for water reservoir, it will also be designed as a tourism destination.

All this time, the function is not maximally yet. Later on, we'll propose it to be arranged and integrated with the RPTRA

The dam that currently has width 1,000 square meters will be expanded and its broken sheet pile will also be repaired. Besides that, some facilities such as jogging track, children's playground, and park also planned to be functioned maximally to support the dam as tourism area.

North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Wahyu Haryadi stated the dam that had been built in 1990 is not used maximally. Hence, his party intends to arrange for optimizing the dam thus it could not be used as water reservoir only.

"All this time, the function is not maximally yet. Later on, we'll propose it to be arranged and integrated with the RPTRA," he expressed, Monday (6/8).

Haryadi also plans to put some duck-boats on the dam in order to look like a real tourism attraction. As a support, the dam will be used as a fishing pool for citizen.

"Yesterday, we had cleaned and spread 10,000 seeds of Nila and Lele. We will instruct the Regional Working Unit (SKPD) for reviewing and proposing the arrangement plan to be realized," he closed.
