Joint Personnel Clear Street Vendors and Illegal Parking in Cempaka Putih

Hundreds of personnel under the Central Jakarta administration demolished stalls owned by street vendors (PKL) and controlled illegal parking along Jalan Cempaka Putih Raya, Cempaka Putih Sub-district.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin said today's operation targeted illegal street vendors and illegal parking on the sidewalks.

"We controlled them because they caused traffic jams," he expressed, Tuesday (3/11).

At the same location, he warned the cafe and restaurant owners to make their own parking lot.

"We do not prohibit them from opening businesses, but they must comply with the applicable permits and designations. But, there are still many vehicles parked on the roadside and sidewalks," he asserted.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, TP Purba explained the operation involved 110 joint personnel of Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, Social Sub-agency, PPSU, and national army/police.

"We are currently socializing to traders who sell and park on the sidewalk. If they ignore it, we will impose minor criminal sanctions in the office," he asserted.

He added routine patrols were also intensified to ensure comfort and order in the community, especially during Ramadhan.
