New Flats Around Kampung Bandan & Manggarai Stations

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama planned to build the integrated flats on two empty lands belonging PT KAI. These lands are located in Kampung Bandan and Manggarai Train Stations.

The integrated flats will be built on two PT KAI's lands

“The integrated flats will be built on two PT KAI's lands. We also already have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), thus we also able to maintain PT KAI assets and the rest will be made as the flat. Its concept is inspired from India,” said Ahok, at Kota Train Station, Wednesday (6/10).

Taking Train, Ahok Observed Kampung Bandan

Ahok acknowledged the project could bring a good impact in several aspects, such as cost saving and traffic jam prevention. By doing so, people do not need to use their private vehicle for traveling.

“This integrated station is very useful for people living near the station. We could also apply a special ticket in future, such as discount for flat occupants. The station would also be clean from the parking lot,” he uttered.

He furthered that it would be integrated with other transportation modes, such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). “The applied concept is a flat construction in which at the lower part used as train depot, MRT depot and folk market,” he expressed.

Besides flat construction, the city administration and PT KAI also plans to build a loopline in Kampung Bandan's railway. It was listed on the 2011-2030 Provincial Spatial Planning (RTRW), thus commuter line train can be integrated with MRT.

“That's why, the MRT tracks is designed the same with train tracks. We are also looking for ways how to develop stocks belong to PT KAI under PT MRT Jakarta and stocks belong to city administration in PT KCJ (KAI Commuter Jabodetabek),” he disclosed.
