City to Build Integrated Transportation Terminal Area in North Jakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government will build an integrated transportation terminal area in Marunda, North Jakarta. The area is planned to also be equipped with international airport and port.
This integrated area will be built and managed in first hand by Jakarta Provincial Government
Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama said the design of the international airport in that area is made by PT Marindo Bahtera Development Oentoro Surya.

“So, we’re planning to build our own airport in Marunda. What do you think about the name?” asked Basuki to the press.
Basuki’s question was spontaneously responded by a journalist.
“How about Si Pitung, Sir?” replied the journalist abruptly.
“Oh, that’s a good idea, Si Pitung International Airport, cool right?” Basuki answered.
As known, Marunda area is identical with Si Pitung since Si Pitung’s House is located there. Si Pitung’s House is the place where non-active Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo declared himself running for president candidate.
While regarding the location of the international port, Basuki told that it is probably would be located either in Tanjung Priok or Ancol. Thus, the whole project will be carried out in North Jakarta.
