This has become a long-standing tradition that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood
RW 03 Chairman, Sabira Island Urban Village, Muhammad Ali Kurniawan said, sharing takjil during Ramadan has long been a tradition. It is part of the harmony and tolerance among communities.
"This has become a long-standing tradition that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood," he expressed, Monday (3/17).
Ramadan Blessings for Takjil SellersHe explained the takjil menu is very diverse, ranging from fruit ice, coconut ice, milk, dates, wet cakes, fried snacks, and others. Every day, there are 30-50 portions of takjil ready to be enjoyed together at the mosque.
"Every day, there are 10 to 11 houses that bring takjil to the mosque before Maghrib or before the breaking of the fast," he explained.
He hoped that this good tradition could be maintained to enhance worship by sharing with others, while also strengthening the sense of togetherness among residents through caring.
Harapan Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Yusuf explained, takjil is not only distributed to mosques but also directly given to less fortunate residents and fishermen who come or stop by on Sabira Island.
"This is a positive thing, even worthy of being emulated in other regions. We're grateful to still be able to share with each other in this holy month," he explained.
One of the residents, Abidin (48), expressed his happiness to be able to participate and continue the tradition of sharing takjil in his area.
"I usually distribute takjil at the mosque in amounts of five to ten portions. Not every day because we take turns and there is already a schedule. I'm very happy to share during this holy month," he admitted.
