Pramono Appeals Firefighters to Increase Readiness

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended the fire handling preparedness roll call with related agencies and firefighter volunteer at Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Office, Central Jakarta, Monday (3/24).

Pramono reminded Jakarta remain faces various challenges in preventing and handling fire cases. Therefore, readiness of facilities, risk mitigation and increasing the capacity of officers are crucial factors in building a safe and sustainable city.

"Firefighter is not only extinguishing fire, but also preventing, rescuing and protecting ," Pramono said.

He also emphasized the importance of the role of firefighters and volunteer firefighters in providing the best service to the community for the safety of all.

"This roll call strengthens our commitment as firefighters and volunteer in providing the best service to the community, for the sake of mutual safety," he added.

Pramono appreciated the synergy and hard work of firefighters, volunteers, and Fire Safety Manager from various buildings in Jakarta in protecting residents. According to him, the synergy and hard work that has been established are the main factors in creating a safer environment.

As for information, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency handled 1,969 fire cases and 6,800 non-fire operations along 2024. This proves the vital role of firefighters in various emergency situations.

"Thanks to the dedication and I hope the performance can be improved for the sake of society safety," Pramono continued.

Pramono then wished firefighters a happy 106th birthday at the end of his speech. He hoped the roll call will be able to improve the preparedness and synergy between Jakarta Provincial Government, field personnel and other society elements in protecting family and all Jakarta residents from fire.
