Eid 2025 Homecoming Numbers in Jakarta's Terminals Rise by 57.41 Percent

Jakarta Transportation Agency has recorded a surge in the number of homecomers departing from terminals in Jakarta ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

"This increase shows that many Jakarta residents have started their trip to their hometowns,"

Based on monitoring on March 27 (D-4 of Eid), the number of departing passengers increased by 57.41 percent compared to regular days.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo stated, the monitoring was carried out at four main terminals and three supporting terminals during Eid Homecoming 2025 period, which from March 21 to April 11, 2025.

Syafrin pointed out that the main terminals, including Pulo Gebang, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres, and Tanjung Priok, experienced a 46.11 percent rise in the number of departing passengers. 

"Meanwhile, at the three supporting terminals, namely Lebak Bulus Terminal, Angke Terminal, and Grogol Terminal, there was a much more significant surge, with an increase of 282.31 percent compared to regular days," he said on Saturday (3/29).

Meanwhile, as of 1 PM on March 28, 2025, a total of 92,163 passengers were recorded using public transportation across the seven terminals. Of these, 69,969 passengers were departing for their hometowns, and 22,194 passengers were returning to Jakarta.

"This increase shows that many Jakarta residents have started their trip to their hometowns to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families," he added.

Jakarta Transportation Agency urges residents to plan their trips well and make use of official terminal services for safer and more comfortable travel.

"We will continue to monitor the conditions at the terminals to ensure the smooth homecoming flow and the safety of passengers," he mentioned.
