Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama revealed that the Coastal Tourism Festival which will take place in Rumah Si Pitung or Pitung's House, Marunda Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta, is not merely ceremonial.

Ahok hopes the 12 potential tourism destination in North Jakarta could be arranged and develop sustainably. Thereby, its result can increase the tourist number significantly.

According to him, the event implementation is only ceremonial, and there is no significant on the tourism and economy development. Moreover, it involved Pitung's House, Al-Alam Mosque, and Public Beach, which are the potential recreational site if the arrangement and sustainable development are done.

He also instructed sub-distric and urban village heads to inventory the waterfront land that can be purchased as a beach and a location for small and medium business (UKM). Eventually, the location planned to be used for food seller and creative entrepreneur.

As for the locals, will be trained to develop food and creative business. This is done, because they would be participated in the event every weekend to attract visitor. Its realization does need a lot of money, he assessed, it is quite enough to hold a simple event but interesting.

“We must cooperate each other to develop the existing potential. This is a good place, everything is possible if we can manage well,” he finished.
