5 Houses in Cengkareng Timur Burnt

A suspected electrical short-circuit caused a fire that destroyed 5 permanent-homes at Gg. Mushollah, RT 04/03, Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, West Jakarta, Monday (6/15) dawn.

Relaying on beritajakarta.com, the fire broke out from a house of Mr. Suprapto (60) at around 1.20 AM. Locals were immediately trying to put out the flames, but they failed due to strong winds. No wonder, the flames then spread to the next homes.
“The flames came from Mr. Suprapto’s
house on the second floor. It is allegedly triggered by electrical short-circuit on the second floor,” told Sukaryo, one of the
witnesses.
Picket Commander of West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Eko Sumarno revealed that his sub-department deployed at least 15 fire trucks in attempt to handle the flames at the scene.
“We succed to control the situation about an hour later. Fortunately, there is no casualty in this incident,” he explained.
