The bridge measuring approximately 7x3 meters, spanning over the Kesatriaan Connecting Channel, collapsed on Saturday (4/5) around 4 PM during heavy rain.
According to her, the bridge collapsed due to the unstable soil conditions. For emergency handling, the East Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency immediately constructed a temporary bridge using galvanized steel pipes.

Next to the bridge, she explained, there was a temporary waste disposal site, so garbage trucks were prohibited from passing for the time being.
"As a solution, the garbage will be transported using a cart to be taken to the dump truck," she explained.
Matraman Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit Head, Nessy Octavia said the temporary bridge was being built using 3-inch galvanized iron materials.
"We built a temporary bridge using iron with a width of one meter. This is temporary so that residents using motorcycles can cross," she added.
The repair involved 12 personnel from the Matraman Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit.
"We have proposed a permanent fix this year," she uttered.
RT 11/03 Chairman, Kebon Manggis Urban Village, Asmanto added there were no casualties when the bridge collapsed.
"The bridge built in 2010 serves as access for residents from Matraman to Manggarai and Menteng. Fortunately, at the time of the incident, there were no residents crossing," he said.
