Jakarta - Warsaw Explore Sister City Cooperation

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, along with Polish Ambassador to Indonesia, Barbara Szymanowska, and Chairman of the Polish-Indonesian Parliamentary Friendship Group, Krzysztof Gadowski, explored sister city cooperation between Jakarta and Warsawa, Wednesday (4/9).

"I just received the Polish Ambassador. Besides introducing ourselves, we will open a sister city relationship with Warsaw," Rano expressed, Wednesday (4/9).

As a continuation, the sister city cooperation plan would be discussed in more detail.

Besides discussing the cooperation plan to open a sister city with Warsaw, he explained the arrival of the Polish envoy was also to invite him to attend the inauguration of the Bentar Temple that has been completed at the Dolina Charlotty Resort & Spa, located about two kilometers from the city of Warsaw.

Therefore, he was slated to visit Poland in June along with the Jakarta cultural team. However, due to adjustments with the temple built at the resort, he would present culture from Bali.

"It is impossible for Betawi culture to be featured at Candi Bentar, I will bring it from Bali to perform," he added.

Besides carrying a cultural mission, his visit was also aimed to discuss the follow-up plans for the sister city.
