North Jakarta PMI Reports Successful Collection of 2,226 Blood Bags

North Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) successfully collected 2,226 blood bags during the "Donor Darah Akbar" Halalbihalal dan Silahturahmi Kemanusian event held on April 8-12, 2025, at Babussalam Mosque, North Jakarta Office.

"Hopefully this collaboration continues, ensuring a steady blood supply in Jakarta,"

North Jakarta PMI Headquarters Head, Nurhasanudin, conveyed that over the five-day event, his side managed to collect 2,226 blood bags from a total of 2,886 registrants, consisting of civil servants (ASN), Individual Service Providers (PJLP), PKK cadres, and residents.

Blood Donation at North Jakarta Mayor's Office Targeting 2,500 Donors

"Alhamdulillah, the blood donation after Eid went smoothly and successfully. Every day it is enthusiastically welcomed by almost 500 people," he said, Monday (4/14).

This activity involved around 60 personnel, including headquarters staff, Blood Donor Unit (UDD) teams, and North Jakarta PMI volunteers.

According to him, the collected blood will undergo initial testing at Jakarta PMI Headquarters before being stored at North Jakarta PMI Blood Bank.

"Thank you to all parties involved in this activity, as well as community members who enthusiastically donated. Hopefully this collaboration continues, ensuring a steady blood supply in Jakarta," he expressed.

North Jakarta Assistant for Administration and Public Welfare, Muhammad Andri, expressed his gratitude for the success of the event.

This event also served as a means of fostering community ties in North Jakarta to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah. In addition to blood donation, free health check-ups and basic food packages were provided to donors.

"Such activities should be held again as they greatly assist North Jakarta PMI in replenishing blood stocks," he explained.

Meanwhile, Rima (28), a donor and administrator of RPTRA Sunter Jaya Berseri, expressed happiness in contributing to this humanitarian effort.

"I participate voluntarily as I often donate blood; this is my fourth time. Donating blood makes me feel fresher and healthier," she said.
