Rano Invites Residents to Maintain Public Facilities

Jakarta Vice Governor, Rano Karno invited residents to actively participate in maintaining public facilities in Jakarta to be stolen or damaged by irresponsible people.

Rano said residents are able to report any of vandalism and theft of public facilities via various channels such as CRM and JAKI applications, or through their Instagram social media accounts.

Residents Appreciate Repair of Pedestrian Bridge on Jalan Daan Mogot

"Let's maintain our public facilities," Rano said, while visiting pedestrian bridge on Jalan Daan Mogot, RT 05/01 Tanjung Duren Utara Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Tuesday (4/15).

This newly repaired pedestrian bridge was viral on social media. The bridge is damage with a hole on its floor.

"Thanks to the resident who made it viral. So I instruct related agency to repair it," he added.

Based on the investigation and testimonies of several residents and traders around the location, Rano continued, the stair floor plates were stolen by unknown people.

Rano explained the pedestrian bridge floor plate repair used aluminum installed with drill nails.

"We are still unable to re-construct the bridge with concrete material due to limited land area," he explained.

Rano stated will increase the security of the bridge by Satpol PP and Bina Marga Agency, as well as adding CCTV, to prevent similar incident happens again.

"We also need active role of the residents. Hopefully this is the last incident," he hoped.

Bina Marga Agency Head, Heru Suwondo explained the damage part of the stair is by 10 traps. His side is still counting the loss.

"We have the material replacement and is directly installed. It will complete in one or two days," he explained.
