Preventing Theft, Pramono Instructs to Install CCTV on Pedestrian Bridge

Jakarta Provincial Government ranks are instructed to install CCTV on pedestrian bridges prone to theft. It is done to respond the stolen steel plate on pedestrian bridge on Jalan Daan Mogot, West Jakarta.

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said this case is intolerable.

"I already get the report. I ask the CCTV recording to be investigated," Pramono said at City Hall, Tuesday (4/15).

He added that similar incident previously happened on Semanggi Bridge. The bridge lamp was stolen. He instructed to install CCTV and prepare personnel to secure the area.

"I also instruct to install the lights for Semanggi Bridge in May or June. Hopefully it will be safe from theft," he added.

Previously, West Jakarta Bina Marga Agency's Road and Bridge Section Head, Khairul Imam explained the bridge's steel plates were stolen.

His side has repaired the stairs by deploying 10 Yellow Taskforce personnel.

"It is the third repair in the last one year. We applied welding method to make it stronger, but the thieves always find a way to steal the steel plates," he admitted.
