Jakarta Gov and KPK Collaborate to Instill Anti-Corruption Values in Students

On National Education Day 2025, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), in collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government, held a series of anti-corruption education activities for students in South Jakarta.

KPK Deputy Chairperson, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, conveyed that this event is part of efforts to instill and spread the values of integrity and anti-corruption to all elements of society, which can be done both formal and informal education channels.

"For childrens, we're educating them today through anti-corruption storytelling, film screenings, and others," he said at ACLC Building of KPK RI, Karet Urban Village, Setiabudi Sub-district, South Jakarta, on Friday (5/2).

Ibnu hoped that introducing anti-corruption values early on would encourage greater community participation in deterring corrupt practices.

"To promote this anti-corruption spirit, teachers and parents also play a key role in instilling anti-corruption valies in everyday life, such as discouraging cheating among students," he added.

Jakarta Education Agency Deputy Head, Purwosusilo, appreciated the National Education Day event, which involved around 300 students from early childhood education (PAUD) to junior high school levels in learning about anti-corruption.

"I thank everyone for the collaboration in educating students about corrupt behaviors they should avoid from an early age. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue," he expressed.

On the other hand, Jakarta Inspectorate Secretary, Dina Himawati, mentioned that the collaboration with KPK is not new, because the city governemnt has long received guidance from KPK team regarding corruption prevention.

According to her, the implemented collaborations include Integrated Family program for all civil servants in the Jakarta Provincial Government, aiming to cultivate anti-corruption attitudes starting from family.

Next, the ASN Teaching program that involves echelon officials in the city government, who teach, motivate, and provide students with an understanding of how to instill anti-corruption values in their school life.

"We also plan to revive the anti-corruption culture on a large and comprehensive scale, one of which is through joint anti-corruption film screenings at Lapangan Banteng," he explained.
