City Government-Karawang Regency Strengthen Food Cooperation

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung tightens foodstuff, especially rice, cooperation with Karawang Regency to fulfill Jakarta resident needs. Pramono said that this collaboration is important since Jakarta only has 400 hectares of agricultural land, while the need reaches 2,500 tons of rice per day.

"Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with Karawang Regency for rice procurement," Pramono said, Tuesday (5/6).
Pramono appreciated Karawang Regency as one of main paddy producers in West Java who is also cooperate with PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya. Pramono requested that the cooperation that is already underway on 600 hectares of rice fields be increased to 3,000 hectares.
"I hope the Food Station Director and ranks can realize this," he added.
At the same moment, Jakarta Provincial Government through PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya provided assistance in the form of seeds, tractors and sprayers to farmers.
"It is also important for us to grow together," Pramono added.
Moreover, Jakarta Provincial Government also offered JAKI application to the regency for governmental efficiency in serving the public.
"Nearly 93 percent of community activity is monitored via JAKI application," he continued.
Pramono also offered cooperation in managing the Regional-Owned Enterprises. Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to assist the management.
Meanwhile, Karawang Regent, Aep Syaepuloh stated his side is ready fulfill the rice supply to Jakarta. Karawang Regency has around 88 thousand hectares of rice fields with a production target of 1.4 million tons of dry grain in 2025.
"We signed the cooperation of 600 ha of rice fields," he stated.
He also thanked the Jakarta Provincial Government for the assistances provided to Karawang Regency.
"Thanks to Jakarta Governor for assisting out farmers," he added.
