Cegah Kebakaran, Pramono Targetkan 2 APAR Tiap RT

Each RT Targeted to Have Two Fire Extinguishers for Fire Prevention

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has set a target for each RT across Jakarta to be equipped with at least two units of Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR). This was conveyed during his inspection of fire prevention equipment in Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Friday (5/9).

"If these can be provided, preventive measures can be taken,"

"Jakarta has approximately 30,679 RTs. Personnally, I hope each RT will have two APAR units," he expressed.

He explained that this measure is part of the implementation of Governor's Instruction (Ingub) No. 5/2025 on Movement to Have APAR. This regulation was signed in response to the high density residential areas in Jakarta which are prone to fires.

Such conditions often hinder large fire trucks from accessing narrow roads when a fire breaks out.

"I have signed Governor's Instruction No. 5/2025 regarding the movement to have APAR," he added.

In addition to providing APAR, Pramono also wants all RTs in Jakarta to receive training on how to use fire extinguishers effectively. This aims to enhance public safety and resilience against fire hazards.

"If these can be provided, preventive measures can be taken," he asserted.

According to data, there were 598 fire cases in Jakarta throughout 2025, 141 of which were successfully managed using APAR. Therefore, Pramono underscored the significance of APAR ownership in each RT, especially in densely populated areas, such as Sukabumi Utara, Tambora, and Taman Sari.

"This serves as an excellent initial step for Jakarta, especially in densely populated areas," he said.
