Retaining Wall on Jalan Bidara Raya Elevated to Minimize Flooding

The North Jakarta Water Resources Agency (SDA) is repairing the channel by elevating the retaining wall on Jalan Bidara Raya, RW 05, Pejagalan, Penjaringan.

Penjaringan Sub-district SDA Executing Unjt Head, Pendi said this repair is part of a water channel maintenance program in residential areas. It aims to minimize flooding during the rainy season.
"This is also done based on the aspirations of the local residents," he expressed, Thursday (5/15).
Retaining Wall in Ciliwung River Elevated to Block Water OverflowHe explained the elevation is focused on both sides of the channel, each with a length of 50 meters. The channel has a width of about one meter.
"This retaining wall is elevated from 30 centimeters to 40 centimeters. So, now, its height reaches 70 centimeters," he explained.
He added the work has been ongoing since May 9, 2025, and is targeted for completion next week.
"Everything is going well. So far it has reached 45 percent," he explained.
The repair above received appreciation from one of the locals, Bondan (38).
"Hopefully, the overflow of water from the drains can be avoided when it rains," he uttered.
