Interactive Park to Be Constructed at Kramat Jati Market

East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin wants a 200 square meter of land, previously used by Community Organization (Ormas) post, to be constructed as an interactive park.

It is predicted to complete in two weeks

Munjirin said that East Jakarta Administration through City Park and Forestry Sub-agency will assist the park design.

"It's already agreed also by Perumda Pasar Jaya that the land to be constructed with an interactive park," he said, Monday (5/19).

Perumda Pasar Jaya Director, Agus Himawan Widiyanto stated the construction is targeted to start next week.

"It is predicted to complete in two weeks. Construction budget is taken from Perumda Pasar Jaya and design budget is from East Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency," he stated.

According to him, the interactive park will be equipped with children's play facilities. So, children of market traders or visitors who come to the market can play in the park.

Meanwhile, one of market sellers, Margono admitted to support the market arrangement program.

"We also want a conducive situation during our daily activity without being intimidated by Ormas or thugs," he admitted.

If there are still street vendors (PKL) occupying the parking area, he continued, it will continue to disrupt trading activities. Because, the process of loading and unloading goods is disrupted and the parking area is also occupied by PKL stalls.

"Now the market is well-managed. Loading and unloading process now becomes 30 minutes from previously 1 hour," he stated.
