We need to improve Tanah Abang Hospital
Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said the hospital expansion will be run by using 775 square meters of empty land behind the hospital building.
"I told the Mayor, Community Welfare Assistant and Health Agency to use the empty land behind the hospital building for the expansion," Pramono said, Monday (5/26).
Pramono Strengthens Health Services through HealthConEx 2025The quality of Tanah Abang Hospital health services is considered good even though it is a type D hospital. Of the six government-owned hospitals in Central Jakarta, Pramono added, five of them are still type D.
In fact, the need for type C hospital health services in the area is quite high. The occupancy rate of Tanah Abang Hospital has reached above 65 percent.
"Almost all type C hospitals are privates. We need to improve Tanah Abang Hospital since the need is high," he added.
Pramono will invite related parties to discuss and solve the main problem of hospital expansion. One of them is related to the boundary requirements for hospital buildings and residential areas, namely four meters.
Pramono also hopes that Tanah Abang Regional Hospital status can be increased to a type C hospital through the expansion and additional capacity.
"We need to get a way out to add the hospital capacity," he continued.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Health Agency Vice Head, Lies Dwi Oktavia Handayani, stated Tanah Abang Regional Hospital now has 50 beds. It is targeted the expansion can add up to 100 beds according to type C minimum standard.
"Hopefully we can add up to 100 beds to change the status into ty
pe C hospital," she stated.
