Join the Eco Qurban Challenge, Win Prizes!

The Jakarta Environment Agency is once again inviting Jakarta residents to be more mindful in carrying out the sacrificial worship through the 'Eco Qurban Challenge' campaign.

We invite all residents

The activity held in collaboration with T.Care (Tunasmuda Care) is part of the effort to support environmentally friendly sacrifices through proper waste management and reduction of single-use plastic waste.

Through Eco Qurban Challenge, residents are invited to share eco-friendly sacrifice moments via reels or stories on Instagram.

Idul Adha in Jakarta Goes Green with Eco Packaging Solutions

Jakarta Environment Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said this program stems from concern about the large amount of waste, especially plastic, generated during each Idul Adha.

According to him, this Eco Qurban encourages the use of environmentally friendly packaging and proper waste management, following Bylaw Number 10/2022.

"We invite all residents to ensure that the sacrifice is not only a blessed act of worship but also helps to protect the earth," he expressed, Saturday (5/31).

His party has provided a total prize by Rp 5,000,000, with details as follows: 1st place worth Rp 2,000,000, 2nd place Rp 1,000,000, 3rd place Rp 500,000, and five lucky participants will each receive a Gopay balance by Rp 100,000.

Residents are also urged to use natural packaging such as bamboo baskets, banana leaves, or purun bags, and to consume meat in moderation to avoid waste.

"Eco Qurban is an effort to protect the environment that can start with simple actions. Hope the community can be actively involved and become an inspiration for other regions," he added.

He even shared the Eco Qurban guide with the sacrificial committee in Jakarta, which includes:

• Animal slaughter at the Ruminant Slaughterhouse (RPH-R)

• If conducted outside the RPH-R, the location must meet the requirements: safe, licensed, have clean water available, and have waste management facilities

• Waste must be properly managed, not disposed of in gutters/rivers, using closed containers, and handed over to official personnel
