Anwar Ajak Perayaan Iduladha Jadi Momentum Peduli Sesama

S. Jakarta Mayor: Idul Adha is a Moment to Enhance Compassion Among One Another

South Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, invited residents to make the celebration of Idul Adha 1446 Hijri, to enhance compassion for one another.

Let's make this moment an opportunity to share with one another

According to him, Idul Adha celebrated by Muslims should serve as a reminder that sacrificing is a tenet of Islamic teachings.

In today's global era, the values of sacrifice are often forgotten. Therefore, Idul Adha should serve as a foundation for remembering God.

He conveyed that the blessings received are indeed a trust from God to be passed on to those in need, including through the fulfillment of zakat, almsgiving, and charity.

"Let's make this moment an opportunity to share with one another," he said, during his speech at Idul Adha prayer at South Jakarta Mayor's Office yard, Friday (6/6).

As human beings are social creatures by nature, he added, civil servants should minimize individualistic traits and become more caring towards others.

"Love for wealth and worldly life shouldn't be excessive because greed for riches leads to rampant corruption, thereby justifying all means," he explained.

He asserted that the slaughtering of qurban animals should be done properly and following Islamic law, taking into account health and hygiene factors.

"And do not disturb public order and facilities," he added.

Meanwhile, KH Taufik Abdul Syukur in his sermon conveyed the theme "Sacrifice Forms Trustworthy Individuals for a Blessed Jakarta".

"For those who make sacrifices, the sacrifice is also interpreted as closeness. We always want to draw closer to God," he explained.

He also invited the people present to pray for those performing the Hajj this year.

"May they be able to perform the pillars and obligations of Hajj perfectly. Then, always be in good health, return safely to their homeland, and become a blessed Haji," he hoped.
