Pasar Jaya and BBPOM Agree to Revitalize Pramuka Drug Market

Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) is about to provide focus group discussion (FGD) together with Perumda Pasar Jaya and law enforcer.

Jakarta BBPOM Head, Sofiyani Chandrawati Anwar said the meeting held at Perumda Pasar Jaya Head Office on Thursday (6/5) agreed to hold the FGD.

The meeting discussed the restructuring of the Pramuka Drug Market, which focuses on resolving the problem of illegal drug distribution and increasing trader compliance.

"We encourage this collaboration to ensure that all stages of revitalization, including compliance with permits and drug storage standards, are in accordance with applicable regulations," she said.

In the meeting, Sofi added, her side highlighted a number of crucial problems, such as the high circulation of substandard drugs, business administration constraints, and traders' minimal understanding of regulations.

"We agreed to prepare a market revitalization action plan in the next 18 months," she added.

Revitalization is not only about the physical aspect but also compiling a detailed action plan. Including technical guidance and socialization for traders and policy synchronization with related stakeholders.

Sofi hopes Pramuka Drug Market could be an example of a drug market that meets the requirements and is safe for consumers.

"We encourage this collaboration to ensure all stages of revitalization, including the fulfillment of permits and drug storage standards according to regulations. FGD is about to be held this month," she stated.
