Have No Building Permit, BTS Tower Demolished

Due to not obtaining Building Permit (IMB), a BTS Tower located in RW 14 Cakung Timur, Cakung, East Jakarta, demolished by officer. The 35 meters-height tower has been built since January 2014 and used as the amplifier for cellular phone signal.

Head of East Jakarta City Arrangement, Syamsul Ikhsan stated, the tower is owned by Solusi Tunas Pratama Company. According to him, the owner had intended to process the permit. But, it was refused by residents of Jakarta Garden City complex (JGC).

"The tower has operated since last year, yet it did not obtain the permit. Last year we have sealed it and now we must demolish," he told, Thursday (6/25).

It is mentioned, the existence of the tower violate bylaw No.7/2012 on Tower Arrangement and Gubernatorial Regulations No.128/2012.

"The residents worry that the tower would collapse and fall on their home," he expressed.

In East Jakarta, currently there are still BTS towers violating the Building Permit. Those tower even have been sealed and only have to wait the demolishment process. Possibly, those tower will be demolished gradually in post of Idul Fitri.
