Free Mass Circumcision Held by PAM Jaya DWP to Celebrate Jakarta's 498th Anniversary

In celebration of Jakarta's 498th anniversary, PAM Jaya Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) held a mass circumcision at RPTRA Mustika in Kramat Jati Urban Village, East Jakarta, attended by 297 children.

"The children will not only get free circumcision, but also gifts and a sum of money,"

PAM Jaya DWP Chairperson, Lia Arief, stated that the mass circumcision was held across five municipalities, targeting 1,000 children.

"The enthusiasm was amazing, it seems we'll even surpass the target," she expressed, on Monday (6/16).

Lia explained the free mass circumcision program brings real benefits to the community, noting that the circumcision could cost up tp Rp 3 million if done independently.

"The children will not only get free circumcision, but also gifts and a sum of money," she added.

East Jakarta TP PKK Head, Essy Feransie Munjirin appreciated PAM Jaya DWP's social initiative to help residents.

"In Islam, circumcision is mandatory. Hopefully, this program can be continued regularly," she conveyed.

East Jakarta Secretary, Eka Darmawan stated that the program not only has social and humanitarian value but also reflects a well-synergized collaboration between Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and the government.

"This is a concrete effort to promote a healthy and prosperous society," he added.

Meanwhile, Sugiarti (35), a parent of one of the participants, expressed gratitude for the program.

"I didn't have to pay anything. The location was close to home, and my child received gifts and money after the procedure," she said.
