Meet the Winners of the Provincial High School Library Competition 2025!

The Jakarta Provincial Library Competition 2025 for High School/Vocational School/Islamic High School (SMA/SMK/MA) was held from May 19 to 23, with the winners announced on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

"Jakarta can produce generations that are intelligent, highly competitive, and ready to contribute to supporting Jakarta,"

As for the result, the 1st place was awarded to SMAN 8 Jakarta with a score of 2,781.1. Followed by SMAN 1 Jakarta in 2nd place with a score of 2,526.8; and SMA Santo Antonius in 3rd place with a score of 2,039.7.

Next, the Honorable Mention 1 went to SMAN 40 Jakarta with a score of 2,039.7.

Jakarta Secretary Assistant for People's Welfare, Ali Maulana Hakim, said that through this competition, schools are expected to be more motivated to develop libraries as innovative, attractive, and accessible learning centers for students and teachers.

"By improving the quality of education through literacy, Jakarta can produce generations that are intelligent, highly competitive, and ready to contribute to supporting Jakarta as a global city," he asserted, Thursday (6/16).

Jakarta Library and Archive Agency (Dispusip) Head, Nasruddin Djoko Surjono, explained that the competition aims to boost the performance and quality of library operations and managements, enhance the role of libraries in the learning and literacy process, and cultivate a reading habit among school communities and surrounding areas.

"With these results, we hope the winners will continue developing their libraries and become role models for other school libraries in Jakarta," he expressed.

For information, the participants of this competition were winners of the city/regency-level High School/Vocational School/Islamic High School Library Competition. The panel of judges consisted of representatives from the National Library of Indonesia, publisher associations, and academics.
