Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, inaugurated the Community Hall RW 09 in Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta on Friday (6/20). This community hall was built on a 3,000-square-meter land.

Pramono expressed his happiness over the active participation of local residents and developers in the construction of this community hall. This shows that the sense of community among Jakarta people has become strong.

"Something like this is more uplifting for me because it is real participation from local residents together with the existing developers," he expressed.

He hoped that residents could maximize the community hall for social gatherings without incurring costs. He also instructed the mayors to assist with the operational and cleanliness of the community hall regularly by deploying the orange troops.

In addition, community halls have also been built in several other areas. Hopefully, this would make residents feel more comfortable, safe, and improve the relationship among residents.

"As many RW as there are, it is still below 10. But I am confident that the number will increase because construction is happening everywhere," he explained.

Further, he explained the Betawi symbol is now used in various events and many places, including in community halls.

Efforts to preserve Betawi culture include signing a Governor's Call that requires 4 and 5-star hotels to showcase Betawi identity within the next one to two months, including clothing, food, and decorations. This is in line with Law No. 2/2024.

"Some hotels have already started, one of them is Hotel Borobudur. When you arrive at Hotel Borobudur, the face you see is the Betawi face," he explained.

Aside that, Pramono stated the revitalization of public facilities is the main focus of the Jakarta Government. The revitalization of Blok M Hub has been completed, highlighting the Betawi identity.

Following the revitalization of Blok M, Pasar Baru would soon be reactivated. Then, after the MRT construction in Glodok is completed, the area will also be improved and enhanced.

"Because to develop Jakarta, it is not necessary to build too many new facilities, but to maximize the use of the existing ones. Thus, making the residents of Jakarta want to come is more than enough," he explained.

To reactivate Pasar Baru, the Jakarta Government would also open new Transjakarta routes, such as from Blok M to Pasar Baru, Tebet to Pasar Baru, and Kelapa Gading to Pasar Baru. Through the revitalization of Pasar Baru with a more attractive appearance, it would become an attraction for the public to visit.

RW 09 Chairman, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, West Jakarta, Burhan, appreciated the Governor for inaugurating the Community Hall RW 09, as this is a follow-up to the Governor's program.
