Collapsed Sheet Pile in Papanggo Repaired

A 23-meter-long connecting channel's sheet pile that was collapsed at Jalan Sunter Paradise, Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta a few days ago, finally repaired. The reparation is predicted to be complete in mid-July.

Besides repairing sheet pile, the collapsed road also been repaired, considering the heavy vehicles often passed the road

Head of Water Resources Maintenance Section for North Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Bodi Margosutrisno disclosed the reparation has been started since last Tuesday (6/23). The initial stage is including sheet pile demolishment on the east side of the connecting channel.

"We had to demolish the sheet pile due to it was severely damaged. Besides repairing sheet pile, the collapsed road also been repaired, considering the heavy vehicles often passed the road," he told, Friday (6/26).

He went on the say that besides damaging road around the channel, the ground contours under the road also experienced landslide. Hence, his side will conduct compaction before repairing sheet pile and asphalting road.

"The ground will be compacted first and then continued to dam reconstruction and its road will be asphalted. It's predicted to be complete in the upcoming July," he disclosed.
