Jakarta Offers Rp 1 Transit Fare During Bhayangkara's 79th Anniversary

The city administration is offering a special flat rate of Rp 1 for public transportation on Transjakarta bus rapid transit (BRT), Greater Jakarta light rail transit (LRT) and the Jakarta mass rapid transit (MRT) to ease congestion during the Bhayangkara's 79th anniversary on Tuesday (7/1).

Encouraging the use of public transportation by the community

This policy applies to the three main modes of transportation in Jakarta, namely BRT or Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta (Velodrome – Pegangsaan Dua).

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo said that besides serving the residents, this also supports the smooth mobility of residents during important national moments.

"This is the Jakarta Government's support for Bhayangkara's Anniversary and encouraging the use of public transportation by the community," he expressed, Tuesday (7/1).

He explained, during the duration of this policy, the fare system on the electronic card will continue to record a fee of Rp 1 for data recording purposes.

As for other transportation services that already have a fare of Rp 0, such as Mikrotrans, Transjakarta Cares, and other social services, will continue to operate as usual without any changes.

"We invite the community to use this facility responsibly and to maintain mutual comfort while using public transportation," he said.
