Some 170 pet cats received free sterilization from the South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) at SDN Kebayoran Lama Utara, Kebayoran Lama Sub-district.

Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section Head, Irawati Harry Artharini said, free sterilization for animals was realized through cooperation with the Indonesian Environmental Care Foundation (YPLI) and Whiskas.

"We also held an educational talk show with two veterinarians, Abid Mursyid and Desy Fatma Sari. They will discuss zoonosis from the perspective of animal and human health," she expressed, Friday (7/4).

She detailed, today's sterilizations included 128 male cats and 42 female cats.

"We chose SDN Kebayoran Lama because the place is spacious and coincidentally during school holidays," she explained.

She hoped, routine sterilization could prevent reproduction and control the cat population, as well as provide health and behavioral benefits to cats.

"Rabies vaccination is also routine. I invite all animal lovers to bring their pets to the service location, which can be seen via our Instagram account," she explained.

Thank you message was conveyed by one of the cat owners, Rizka Maulianti. This was because her two pet cats received free sterilization.

"Since registration opened, I was truly serious about the quota and I felt happy to get two free quotas," she admitted.
