Entertainment Tax Imposed on Padel, Pramono Says

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that Jakarta Provincial Government implements an entertainment tax of 10 percent. This policy is part of Certain Goods and Services Tax regulation on the entertainment services category.

"It is regulated in entertainment tax. Similar to tennis, squash, billiard, and so on," he said.

According to him, the imposition of entertainment tax is not only applied in Jakarta, but also in various other cities in accordance with statutory regulations.

Jakarta Provincial Government is reviewing the implementation of this policy.

"Padel is part of entertainment sports. The policy is also imposed to badminton, billiard, tennis, swimming," he added.

As for information, a number of sport facilities in Jakarta is subjected to Certain Goods and Services Tax on entertainment services starting this year. This policy is mentioned in the Decree of Head of Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency Number 257/2025.

The tax rate imposed is 10 percent and applies to transactions such as court rental, entrance tickets, to ordering services through digital platforms.
