Floods Subside, Kembangan Residents Start Returning HomeShe explained, the high rainfall since July 6 caused the rivers in West Jakarta to be on Alert Level 1 for quite a long time.
"The high water surface upstream also causes flood management to take quite a long time," she explained.
Over the past three days, her sub-agency has been optimizing the operation of the floating pump with five liters capacity per second, one of which is at Puri Kembangan Traffic Light.
"So, we've already pumped out the water, but the overflow of Angke River due to continuous rain caused the response to take a little longer," she explained.
With the readiness of all pumps and teams in the field, it would reduce flooding problems in West Jakarta, especially in residential areas or road access.
"All pumps are on standby 24 hours a day considering currently weather anomalies are affecting Jakarta and its surroundings," she said.
