Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, attended the celebration of Jakarta's 498th anniversary at Sensori Park, Jalan Benda Raya, RT 008/RW 02 Kamal Urban Village, Kalideres, West Jakarta, Saturday (7/12).

His presence was warmly welcomed by the residents of Kamal who had gathered since morning at the Sensori Park area.

He, who is affectionately called Bang Doel, also looked cheerful when watching the children dance and perform martial arts. He hoped that with the Sensosi Park in Kamal, traditional Betawi arts activities could be further enhanced.

"We also require school children to participate in extracurricular activities at their school, namely Betawi Martial Arts. We want them to start being introduced to the authentic Jakarta culture from an early age," he expressed.

He also instructed the West Jakarta Mayor to plant some productive trees in this park, especially rare Jakarta fruit plants like Persimmon and Boni.

"So, the park is not just green but also has fruits, and there are other living ecosystems like birds," he added.

He also presented some of Jakarta Government's achievements within 100 days of his work program alongside Governor Pramono Anung.

Among them were issues related to flood management, providing assistance for Quran teachers, and increasing incentives for the RT or RW administrators.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), for all the help and support from Jakarta residents, our 100-day work program is almost 97 percent complete," he closed.
