"Employment and unemployment issues remain our concerns. Therefore, through the job fair, I hope we can reduce unemployment rate in Jakarta, especially in South Jakarta," he said on Wednesday (7/16).

Anwar also praised the job fair for involving micro, small and medium enterprises to promote their products and contribute to the local economy.

"Thanks to everyone who supported Job Fair Phase II in South Jakarta. Hopefully, job seekers can make the most of this opportunity," he expressed.

Head of South Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Nakertransgi) Agency, Syaripudin added, job fair is one of the Jakarta Government's efforts to connect employers with job seekers whose qualifications match the companies' needs.

"Applicants now have the option to apply online or participate in on-site interviews. So, the success of this job fair will be measured not only by attendance, but also by how many applicants who secure the jobs," he explained.

He noted that the agency also offers free skills training through Regional Job Training Center (PPKD) or other government facilities for those who are unemployed.

"Those who don't succeed in this job fair can join training programs to earn certificates that can be used to apply for jobs or start their own businesses," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Nakertransgi Sub-agency Head, Fidiyah Rohim, informed that the job fair, taking place from July 16 to 17, involves 40 companies offering job vacancies in those two venues.

"We've also included 10 Jakpreneur participants from South Jakarta Nakertransgi Sub-agency to help boost their economy," he said.
