Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, visited the Central Office of Perumda Pasar Jaya on Jalan Cikini Raya, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Four traditional markets will be built soon
Besides maintaining good relations, the visit was also to ensure the plan for revitalizing several traditional markets that will begin this year.
"Insya Allah (God willing), four traditional markets will be built soon using a modern approach. That's why I came here," he said, Thursday (7/17).
Rano Appeals His Ranks to Sharpen Poverty Alleviation ProgramsHe admitted, this was his first time visiting the Pasar Jaya Perumda Office. Hopefully, this visit would further motivate the staff of Perumda Pasar Jaya to develop even more.
Despite traditional market development would use a modern approach, its function was ensured to remain the same as before the revitalization.
According to him, the approach of modern elements such as digital payment systems and building renovations was inevitable and makes it easier for the community.
"Besides its economic function, the market will also have social amenities, sports facilities, and cleanliness facilities," he explained.
He also had asked Perumda Pasar Jaya to assist with the revitalization of Pasar Baru. Hopefully, their experience would bring a different touch and approach, making Pasar Baru more attractive to visitors.
Then he revealed a plan to revitalize a market unit at Pasar Minggu Market combined with housing. Thus, in the future, the lower part would function as a market and the upper part would be vertical housing.
"That's the concept we've been promising all along. So, this becomes a new type, and hopefully all the land can be beneficial for the community," he closed.
