S. Jakarta BPBD Delivers Disaster Education at SMPN 253

South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) held a disaster mitigation and socialization at SMPN 253 Jakarta on Jalan Antariksa Raya, Cipedak, Jagakarsa.

S. Jakarta BPBD Unit Head, Sukendar, said that his side delivers two topics on disaster preparedness, including the types of natural disasters and the safety equipment used in emergency response.

"We also provide live demonstrations to students and teachers on earthquake simulations, both indoor and outdoor scenarios," he said on Thursday (7/17).

Sukendar hopes that this disaster education will raise participants' awareness of the risks and unpredictability of disasters that can occur anytime and anywhere.

"We will continue holding these activities regularly, especially as the School Orientation Period (MPLS) is still ongoing this week," he added.

Meanwhile, Principal of SMPN 253 Jakarta, Rohiatun, informed that the activity involved 51 participants from teachers and students and 865 students from grades VII to IX.

She expressed her gratitude to South Jakarta BPBD for sharing valuable knowledge about disaster prenaredness with students and teachers at the school.

"The materials presented were informative, and participants were very enthusiastic," she mentioned.
