One of the key role is the presence of Firefigther Volunteers (Redkar), which now has 2,323 members across Jakarta. According to him, Redkar acts as strategic partner that always ready to face potential fire in their neighborhoods.

"Redkar is a social community force born from collective awareness. They not only serve during emergencies but are also active in fire prevention education and simulation," he explained, Wednesday (7/23).

In addition to Redkar, the Jakarta Provincial Government also runs GEMPAR (Community Movement to Own Fire Extinguishers) program as part of Governor Pramono's Quick Wins in accordance with Governor's Instruction No. 5/2025.

This program mandates every civil servant in Jakarta to own a fire extinguisher (APAR) at home, and promotes APAR ownership in community organizations such as RT/RW, Karang Taruna, and FKDM.

"GEMPAR movement aims to build a disaster-ready culture at the most basic level, which is the household," he said.

On the infrastructure side, Jakarta now has 933 city hydrants and 48 independent hydrants across five administrative cities. This hydrant distribution continues to be strengthened so that fire response can be faster and more evenly spread. East Jakarta has the highest number of city hydrants with 310 points, followed by Central Jakarta with 276 points.

He added that collaboration is key to making fire management a collective responsibility.

"The Jakarta Provincial Government continues to emphasize a solution-oriented and collaborative approach. Community education, fire drill simulations, and infrastructure readiness will be improved thus fire risks can be significantly reduced," he concluded.
