Council Encourages the Increase of Reading Corners in Houses of Worship

He assessed that reading corners in strategic locations can foster interest in reading, especially among the younger generation who spend more time with gadgets than books.

"Our duty is increasing the reading interest by providing supporting facilities such as books," he said, Wednesday (7/30).

City Government Extends Student's Expression Space

According to him, the worship houses are ideal for providing reading corners since the have ample space, especially in densely populated areas with minimal public facilities.

He also emphasized the importance of creative approaches to attract children's interest in reading, such as through storytelling activities. He believes active efforts are needed to promote reading corners so that they are truly utilized by the community.

"We need people to promote the facilities to attract them," he added.

He hopes the agency is able to realize this proposal as an effort in increasing human resource quality.

"Hopefully the improvement of human resource quality in Jakarta will have a positive impact on the future," he hoped.
