New Sidewalk Completed on Jalan Wijaya Kusuma

Public Works (Bina Marga) Unit from Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, has completed the construction of a new sidewalk on Jalan Wijaya Kusuma, Cilandak Barat Urban Village.

"Work began in mid-July and was completed within two weeks,"

Head of Cilandak Sub-district Public Work Unit, Nelson, stated that a new sidewalk was built to follow up residents' requests and field monitoring by the team.

"Previously, there was no sidewalk here. The asphalt ended right at a small patch of open land on the road side," he said on Friday (8/1).

Nelson explained that the sidewalk stretches for 130 meters with varying widths and was built by a team of seven personnel.

"Work began in mid-July and was completed within two weeks," he added.

He believes the new sidewalk will enhance safety for pedestrians and contribute positively to the area's overall look.

"We also installed water channels at several points to prevent puddles. Hopefully, the sidewalk will be used properly according to its function," he mentioned.

A local resident, Bahrul, thanked the government for providing the sidewalk along Jalan Wijaya Kusuma.

He emphasized its importance in ensuring pedestrian safety, comfort, and convenience.

"The sidewalk looks nice and colorful, making the area more pleasant to look at," he expressed.
